10 Days Until I'm A Father

I would like to apologize in advance to my future son for bringing him into this world under the "leadership" of Presiprompter Barry Soetoro.

I was born while Gerald Ford was in office {yawn}.  We it not for his pardon of Nixon, he may well have been one of the most liked presidents in history.

However, I've noticed a trend of so-called "Conservatives" moving to the left of what I consider to be "the Right".  For example...in 1975 New York City avoided going into bankruptcy when Ford signed a $2.3 billion loan.

{We interrupt this post to announce that your brave poster has just returned from a company funded liquid lunch.  Yardhouse...half a plate of penne and chicken pasta and about 4 pints of Belgian Kwaks later....}

So, is there a difference? Let's look...and see shall we?

1975
Yearly Inflation Rate USA 9.2%
Year End Close Dow Jones Industrial Average 858
Interest Rates Year End Federal Reserve 7.25%
Average Cost of new house $39,300.00
Average Income per year $14,100.00
Average Monthly Rent $200.00
Cost of a gallon of Gas 44 cents
Average cost new car$4,250.00

2010
Yearly Inflation Rate USA 2.05 (so far)
Year End Close Dow Jones Industrial Average 10,304.74 (so far)
Interest Rates Year End Federal Reserve 4.225%
Average Cost of new house $200,460.00!!
Average Income per year $33,070.30
Average Monthly Rent $1,087
Cost of a gallon of Gas $2.75
Average cost new car $28,400

Will someone not as drunk as I crunch those numbers and please tell me the difference between income then, income now, cost of a new house then and new hjouse now please?
